Allow six weeks for your Phoneraiser campaign:
Step 3: Collect Start collecting used cell phones and empty ink jet cartridges. Step 4: Send Us the Phones Place the items in one or more boxes. Any sturdy, shippable box is fine. Follow these guidelines:
Step 5: Deposit the check We will mail your check within 10 days of receiving your shipment. Remember, we pay up to $5 per ink jet catridge and up to $300 per qualifying cell phone. Refer to the cell phone price list to view the price paid for each qualifying item. Step 6. Plan your next Phoneraiser There are more than 500 million used cell phones in America and each year an additional 130 million phones become inoperable, unused or broken. You can conduct a Phoneraiser campaign as often as you like and still collect plenty of phones and inkjet cartridges. If not disposed of properly, each cell phone could pollute up to 132,000 liters of drinking water.
Read our Tips for Success
The most successful drives incorporate some or all of these ideas into their Phoneraiser: Set a goal: Set an aggressive but achievable goal in terms of the number of phones or dollars to be raised. Make sure team members know the goal. Make a plan: Determine what groups of donors you wish to approach and determine the best way to address them – by letter, neighborhood door drops, email, through their children, in combination with some other event, etc. Get publicity: Be creative when publicizing your Phoneraiser. The more people that know about it, the more phones you will receive. Be sure to download and customize the FREE tools, such as letters, flyers and press releases available on this website. In addition, use these methods to spread the word:
Partner with local businesses: Set up drop off boxes at local businesses. A restaurant or video store may agree to give coupons to everyone who donates a phone. Train your team: Make sure each team member knows how to collect the phones and distribute tax deductible donation receipts.
Motivate your team: Find creative ways to challenge and motivate your core team of volunteers.
Communicate the benefits to donors: Make sure that donors know what they gain from their donation:
